At Carlisle Leisure Limited we take our environmental responsibilities extremely seriously.

The Management Team and Staff are committed to environmental improvement across our leisure activities, products and services. It is our corporate goal to be a good neighbour, concerned for our community and environment.

As the largest organisation within the leisure industry in this area, we have a responsibility to care for, and protect the environment.

We strive to adopt the highest environemental standards and encourage our suppliers and local partner organisations to join us in the effort.

The Board and employees of Carlisle Leisure Limited commit to:

Environmental Management Develop and maintain an environmental management system and conduct regular reviews of departments and contractors to ensure commitment based on a continual improvement framework
Environmental Awareness Train all staff to ensure the environmental policy and its objectives are communicated, understood and implemented
Environmental Legislation Adopt the highest environmental standards, meeting and exceeding all relevant environmental legistation
Reduce Risks Identify and minimize risks from environmental health or safety hazards for employees and others within the vicinity of our activities including safe storage, handling and disposal of hazardous substances
Energy and Climate Change Monitor energy consumption, set ambitious targets for reducing use while ensuring a comfortable high quality environment for our staff and customers. CLL strives to reduce its CO2 emissions and fossil fuel dependency by installing renewable technology and energy saving measures across its facilities
Waste Management Reduce, Re-use and Recycle or Recover materials where possible. Alongside minimization of waste, CLL will raise awareness in the correct separation of waste and recyclables.
Purchasing We will purchase sustainable products and services where possible, favouring certified fair-trade and 'green' products. Encourage contractors and suppliers to work to the same standard
Transport and Travel Encourage staff and customers to consider walking, cycling or car sharing to travel too and from all CLL leisure centres and facilities, to reduce the environmental impacts of fleet travel
Water Management Monitor water consumption and work to reduce its water usage by installing water saving devices and raise awareness to its customers and staff about responsible use of water.
Leadership and Community Continuing to be an enviromental leader, support and work together with partner organisations and stakeholders in achieving high environmental standards and performance.
