Corporate

At Carlisle Leisure Limited we are committed to doing whatever we can to improve the quality of life for the people of North Cumbria and the community at large through the delivery of affordable, high standard leisure and recreation services through top quality facilities.

Our mission is to encourage “More People, More Active, More Often” and to provide “Quality Leisure for Quality of Life”

We look to achieve this by building sustainable businesses through realistic growth, partnerships with clients and the development of facilities, products and services in line with what our communities want.

As a social enterprise, registered as an Industrial and Provident Society with the Financial Services Authority we have recognisable charitable purposes and as such we qualify for rate relief from NNDR and benefit from VAT advantages. Consequently we invest any operating surpluses back into our facilities which enables continuous improvements to buildings, services and equipment.

Membership of the society/company consists mainly of the employees of the company with representatives from other sectors including users of the facilities, the business sector, tourism, health, voluntary sector and education.

The company is managed by a board committee made up and drawn from the above membership to a maximum of twelve members plus up to four co-opted members.

We currently manage the leisure facilities of Carlisle City Council and Allerdale Borough Council as well as Trinity Leisure Centre and Morton Pool in partnership with the respective schools.
