Bitts Park Tennis Centre and Recreation Area offers a host of activities for all the family.
Water Feature
Summer 2004 saw the opening of a brand new kind of ‘wet play’ following the installation of a state of the art interactive water feature. The new addition to Bitts Park is surfaced with non-slip rubber and projects a series of jets, sprays and fountains of water.
Play Area
A new multi-play unit is designed for children of all abilities, comprising platforms at various heights and levels and an access ramp for wheelchairs. A drag ramp also enables children with limited mobility to climb to higher levels unaided.
Kiosk
As well as stocking hire equipment, the kiosk has a fantastic stock of hot and cold drinks, ice creams and confectionery as well as a relaxing seating area.
Tennis Centre
The Tennis Centre at Bitts Park was badly affected by the floods and storms that hit Carlisle in January 2005. The facility will be reinstated very soon. In the meantime a tennis courts is available at St James Park in Denton Holme. Bookings can be made by calling 01228 625540. The latest news about the tennis centre will be available on the home page.
